Red Sox Makes bold move!
December 9th 2010 20:27
As the baseball winter meetings were coming to an end, The Red Sox inked
a major deal with Carl Crawford an outstanding leftfielder. He could help them return to championship form again. His contract will amount to $142 million over seven years. This contract ranks second all time amongst outfielders. Crawford comes over from the Tampa bay Devil Rays. The Devil Rays also lost first baseman Carlos Pena to the Chicago Cubs. In an earlier blog I had mentioned about some of the huge contracts that have been signed already this year. I just hope the quality of competetion stands up to the amount of the paychecks. Their are some teams taking really big chances with some really bog contrats this year. The bar keeps rising with the contracts that are being dealt in MLB. The Yankees did make an offer to Crawford but eveidently the Red Sox made a better one. The Yankees have just finished up contract talks with Jeter to keep him around. Look for the Yankees and Cliff Lee story to continue to keep ears open for the next couple of days. The Yankees have nade Lee an offer so stick around to see what happens.
